Na noite de premiação os looks foram a grande atração da noite, porém quem tentou chamar mais atenção do que Lady Gaga não conseguiu, pois a moça incorporou o personagem masculino do seu novo clipe Yoü And I, (um alter ego conhecido como Jo Calderone).
A homenageada deste ano foi a cantora Britney Spears que recebeu o premio das mãos da Lady Gaga, que até tentou xavecar a Britney, porél ela logo disse: "Não, ja fiz isso da outra vez..."
Uma das outras surpresas foi também a Beyoncé Knowles que anunciou sua gravidez.
Kate Parry e Adele foram as grandes premiadas da Noite , que contou também com uma baita homegem póstuma a Amy Winehouse, na voz de Bruno Mars.
